Greg's Parenting Tip #1
I see a lot of parents who seem incapable of harmoniously loving their children. Before you find yourself in a situation where you will or may have a child, try raising some plants first. Although plants and children obviously have different requirements they both share the basic needs of attention, care and love. If you can't figure that out, please don't have children.

plants? what about a dog? Keep a niece or nephew for at least a week?
I agree plants are too easy. I can leave them for at least a week and they are fine, try that with kids and you go to jail. A dog my last 6-8 hours a day depending, with out you around, but after that prepare for destruction and clean up duty. Don't get me wrong I think the premise of your request is a good starting point, but you may be preaching to the choir because some folks having kids just have them, like going to the bathroom or lighting up a cigarette, they really don't think twice about it. And those who don't fall into that category could be thinking hard about it and still eff it all up.
In some cases even plant abuse is illegal so I didn't even want to suggest potentially harming an animal or child.
I'm a floraphile and I think growing plants has many benefits but even if you're not going to get serious about plants your care of them can be a good reflection of your ability to love self and others.
This blog and blogs in general may be preaching to the choir but hopefully the right person will come across this and know a good idea when they read it.
I also think choirs need the occasional preaching too. As indigo children in these trying times it's important for us to discuss things and occasionally take an ethical stance.
Thanks for chiming in.
